The AiroMedic inhaler (also called a salt inhaler/pipe or dry salt inhaler) is a device used for respiratory therapy. It typically contains Himalayan salt crystals and is designed for dry inhalation therapy — meaning you breathe in air that passes over salt without adding moisture.
- 02
When you inhale through the AiroMedic mouthpiece, air passes through the salt crystals inside the device. This air picks up micron size salt particles, which are then breathed into the respiratory system. The salt helps to cleanse the lungs, reduce inflammation and break down mucus, making in easier to expel.

No. The AiroMedic inhaler is for dry salt inhalation, not for flushing sinuses (like a neti pot) or delivering medicated mist (like a nebulizer) which can be harsh and unpleasant. It’s closer to halotherapy, which is like breathing in salty air at the beach

Insert the mouthpiece into your mouth.
Inhale slowly and deeply through your mouth.
Exhale through your nose (not back into the AiroMedic inhaler, the moisture will cause the salt to go damp).
Put the AiroMedic inhaler to your mouth, breathe in gently and deeply, then exhale through your nose. This should be repeated for at least 10 breaths, 3 times a day. Please take care to remove the AiroMedic inhaler from your mouth when exhaling to avoid moisture damage to the salt crystals

a. Most people don’t experience side effects. However, some may notice:
b. Slight throat dryness
c. Mild coughing at first (as lungs begin to clear)
d. You will experience the need to expel loosened mucus and phlegm from your chest. Do not fret, this is a good thing. The mucus and phlegm that has built up in your lungs overtime is being broken down by the salt crystals and now is the time to cough it up and expel. This has been impairing your breathing
e. A salty taste, this is also a good indication to the user that there is mucus in the respiratory tract and the fine particles are sticking to it ...hence the salty taste
